Family Movie Night

It’s the end of August and school routines are back in full swing. Maybe you are looking for a way to have your family all together for a night again? Here are three films we have been a part of and where/how you can watch them:

  1. OVERCOMER : This is our top pick for a night out with the family! Overcomer came out this weekend on August 23rd. You can watch the trailer here: https://www.overcomermovie.com/ . It’s filled with a powerful mix of faith, a twist of humor, and a ton of heart. The inspiring family film stars Alex Kendrick, Priscilla Shirer, Shari Rigby, Cameron Arnett, and introduces Aryn Wright-Thompson. You can find it in your local theater here: https://tickets.overcomermovie.com/
  2. RUN THE RACE : This a great film you could watch at home. Two desperate brothers sacrifice today for a better tomorrow. Reeling from his mother’s death and his father’s abandonment, Zach, an All-State athlete, finds glory on the football field, working to earn a college scholarship and the brothers’ ticket out of town. When a devastating injury puts Zach—and his dreams—on the sidelines, David laces up his track cleats to salvage their future and point Zach toward hope. It’s available on DVD and Digital now, Run the Race shows what’s possible when you run to—instead of from—the overwhelming love of God. You can find more details here: http://runtheracemovie.com/ . It’s also available for purchase on Amazon Prime or Youtube.
  3. I Can Only Imagine: This film came out in 2018. Directed by the Erwin Brothers (October Baby, Moms’ Night Out, and Woodlawn), I CAN ONLY IMAGINE stars J. Michael Finley, Madeline Carroll, Trace Adkins, Priscilla Shirer, with Cloris Leachman and Dennis Quaid. A gripping reminder of the power of forgiveness, I Can Only Imagine beautifully illustrates that no one is ever too far from God’s love—or from an eternal home in Heaven. More details here: http://icanonlyimagine.com/. This film is also available for purchase on Amazon Prime or Youtube.

These films are filled with faith and encouragement. I hope you are able to make time to enjoy a family movie night during the school year!
